I have had pain in my hips/legs since May 2011 now my back aches too, so a trip to the osteopath today reveals a problem with my Illiotic band and bursitis. My back trouble is tense muscles lower back and between my shoulders. He cracked the upper and lower back, back into shape, manipulated and pummelled everything, but he suggested acupuncture for the inflamed Bursa. I don't know what to do. Any one on here had acupuncture and will it help my problem. (Also ice packs for the bursitis, doing that bit now).
I think he is excellent by the way and he knows his stuff, I'm aching a bit now though.

Thank you.

Be careful with someone NOT medically trained. But acupuncture in RCTs has been shown to have positive affects in a number of areas including pain management, if it works for you, it works for you.

Go and see a good sports physio for your Bursitis and/or Iliotibial Band

Could work wonders.

So yesterday I plucked up the courage for the acupuncture. I should have had it weeks ago, it really has made a tremendous difference. Less pain on walking now. I hope the effect doesn't wear off though.
