TV adverts makes me feel ill

I have a nice 43" Pioneer Kuro telly, it's about 5 metres away from where I sit n watch it from.
I'm increasingly finding that I can't watch it, or if so I have to ensure I avoid the adverts.
I used to always mute the sound when they came on as they always compress the sound to make them sound louder, however with the increased use of 'fast-editing' that they incorporate I find that my eyes are struggling to keep up with the quick changes which happen almost every second, this causes me to feel nauseous during the ad breaks. If I'm watching BBC or a film where there are no ads or the computer which is a fairly static screen then I'm fine. As the wife likes her telly I have to leave the room when it's on. It's worse if I'm not looking directly at the screen as I notice the constant changes more.
I'm 38 and otherwise OK health-wise, spoken to my optician and doctor who look at me like I'm daft, my eyes have always been a bit slow to focus so if something is moving quickly tracking it is OK but keeping my eyes focused on it isn't great. Makes it a pain to read road signs as they're constantly moving relative to the car. Not sure if it's related.

Your symptoms sounds the same as I experienced when my Sphenoid sinus was infected and blocked up. It filled with blood and pus and started pressing on my nervous system.
Do you have any other symptoms that are ENT or neurological? Is it worse sitting down or standing up?
