I've heard some horror stories, just thought i'd canvass a wider opinion before i go under the knife.

P.s i definately don't want anymore kids, i'm talking about unecessary swellings, pain and lasting side effects.

I had one when about 10 years ago, when I was 27. No long lasting after effects that I can recall. All seemed to heal and recover quite quickly.

The surgeon scalpelling me before the anesthetic had kicked in is a slightly different story however...

Kids are a long lasting effect of not having one.

Seems to be a weekly thread this one!

Had mine a year ago now.No pain during the op with a local anaesthetic(I've had worse trips to the dentist)a little tenderness for a few days then steadily back to normal over the next few weeks.

I spent the day after in bed. It was quite uncomfortable for about a week. Normal "service" was resumed after a few days. No lasting side-effects. More sex though.

Took about six months between asking my GP and actually having the procedure. Yes, needle to the nads.

Thanks chaps, my gp has warned me in a reasonable percentage of men side effects can last for a longer time, even for ever, basically ball ache for the rest of life, and there was a bloke i used to work with a chap who got an infection and spent a week in hospital having fluid drained of his plums.

But i've decided to go for it, have councilling appointment on monday with missus so they can patronise me and i can worry about the money i've lost being off work.

My nads have now retracted up inside me for safety.
