Mold related health issues?
Discussion
Folks,
I've had various unexplained health issues over the past few months. I started coughing up bits of dark coloured blood in mucus around Xmas time. Come January I started to feel a bit dizzy, get headaches and feel very tired all the time. Since then I have been dizzy/tired and had chest pains and a cough most of the time.
I've been to various doctors who've said it is everything from stress to bronchitis. I've had a lung CT and chest X-ray, a brain scan, my hearing/vision/balance have all been tested. All of the above came back fine.
I've been on antibiotics for a couple of weeks to fight bronchitis and the coughing up blood/mucus and coughing in general has stopped. My headaches have gone too.
However the dizziness, chest pains, irregular heartbeat and tiredness still linger on.
I'm a teacher and had to stop one of my classes on Tuesday so I could sit down as I felt like the room was spinning and I was about to faint i.e. like when you are really drunk! I'm 26 and was perfectly healthy until the start of 2012, no heart/lung/other issues bar the odd cold!
The doc asked if I'd changed anything in the last few months; diet, exercise regime, job, sleep patterns, house etc. I've not changed a thing except that over the winter, our apartment developed a black mold problem. We tried to clean it up, but it keeps coming back, probably a burst pipe or something behind the walls, maybe a leak from outside?
I read up on black mold and symptoms linked to it and a lot of what I've had seemed to come up. It also said it can linger for months and have various random symptoms that come and go and come again with no particular pattern.
Does anyone have any experience of black mold related illness/poisoning? How to identify/treat it?
I'm off to look at a new flat at the weekend as the doc said it is possible the black mold has caused the symptoms, but even if it hasn't, it isn't really great for your health to live in a flat full of mold
Any thoughts?

Firstly, I hope whatever is casuing your problems is easily and quickly solved.
I remember seeing one of those 'How clean is your hovel' type programs that dealt with a serious case of mould. They said you had to be very careful cleaning it because of the spores and you have to use a mould specific chemical?
It seems like too much of a coincidence that your symptoms started around the same sort of time that the mould appeared.
