Biting the bullet and I have decided that the time has come to give up smoking

Has anybody had experience of Champix, and any feedback on how they were with it?

Also type 2 diabetic and on Metformin if that changes anything

Took them for one day.

2hrs after my first pill I was incredibly angry, short tempered and wanted to lash out at people. I thought screw feeling like this for 3 months, so stopped taking them and stopped smoking on the same day. Had I continued to take them I'd probably have done something stupid. Apparently this is a "normal" side effect for 1 in 1000 people

On the flip side both my mum and my sisters OH had no problems, aside from minor nausea the first few days there were taking them.

I quit about 2 years ago using Champix. Failed many times before using various methods but it worked for me. Made me feel a bit strange for a bit but that passed after a bit. There are definately side effects but for me it was worth it to get off the weed.

They usually prescribe it with some sort of support system and for me, unless I turned up to the meetings I wouldn't have got the repeat script each week.

There are horror stories out there but I'd recommend it.
