I had a motorcycle accident a few weeks ago

Somehow managed not to break anything but still had a lot of lower back pain, aching and very stiff.
It seemed to get a bit better but it's just got to a level now where it doesn't seem to be getting any better, I'd anything the last few days it's been worse. Very stiff and achy, if I sleep at a dodgy angle or move too quickly I don't half know about it.
Guess I'm just wondering what to do, Wait a bit longer, GP or go straight to physio? I'm only 21 I don't want a bad back all my life.

I would go to the GP AND get them to refer you to a physio.
at you age (thought you'd be older tbh) I would want to get it sorted properly rather than the wait and see approach.
What made you think I'd be older? Can't be my maturity! at you age (thought you'd be older tbh) I would want to get it sorted properly rather than the wait and see approach.

I agree, the wait and see approach isn't doing me any good, thanks.

Personally after never getting much help from Doctors (rest and pills, which never clears is)I would always suggest a good Osteopath. (NHS physios tend to be more about the exercises rather than hands on approach)
Having suffered back problems for many years (mainly job related) and not doing much about it for a long time in th eearly years, I finally listened to a colleague and went to an osteopath, 3 sessions later and I was free of back pain for the first time in several years. That was 6 years ago I've had to go back three time since then (most recent session a few weeks ago) and each time has made my life so much better.
So whilst you'd expect to be sore it doesn't mean you won't benefit from some help. I think mine originated from a fall down the stairs where I badly hurt my knee, this inadvertantly put my back under a lot of strain. I wish so much that I'd dealt with it then and not several years later.

It really depends on the osteo - I was seeing one for a while who told me it was just back ache, and definitely not a disc issue. Turned out to be a massive herniation which needed 2 sets of surgery finally being fused!
Just be careful who you consult - there are good ones and bad ones, and ones that want to be helpful!
My personal theory based on my experiences, is try to get the diagnosis of the problem, before seeking treatment other than stuff that can't hurt you.

I think I will go to my gp first as I have a very good relationship with them having been going there since I was a little'un. Maybe ask if they can refer me to an osteopath.
All I know is nothing broke on the X-ray. Something's obviously up though. How long would people normally leave something like this before taking further action though? Just mindful that it's only been 3 weeks and I'm quite impatient!
