Just thought I'd start a thread to see if anybody is running in Brighton marathon next Sunday!

It's going to be my first marathon and I'm doing it for Macmillan Cancer Support (in memory of my Dad) so I'm fairly nervous as I don't want to let all my sponsors down! (Not sure if I'm allowed to put my sponsorship page up!)

Good luck to anyone else participating!

Well marathon went ok, finished in 4:14 despite aiming to finish in under 4. At 20 miles I hit the wall, except it was a 6 mile thick reinforced concrete wall.

Raised £700 for macmillan cancer support support though, so despite feeling incredibly sore, all is well.

Fantastic. Well done. I wish I could do a marathon but I am not one of natures runners. Find even 100 yards impossible any distance just causes me lots of leg pain.

Congratulations on the time too. 4:14 is not shabby at all.

Just seen this. We would have been down there today, me cycling and her running it, but she's had so many injuries in the last 6 months, she wasn't prepared at all.

Well done on your achievement chap!

Thanks guys.

My Just-giving page was set up with donations towards Macmillan as a whole, so I would guess the donations get sent to one main office?

Wasn't easy training for a marathon being a student at Uni considering the amount of alcohol that gets consumed!

Mate did it despite never having run until 3 months ago, being overweight when he started training and in his 40s. Did it in 4h17. Fantastic achievement for a non-runner. Only lost 2 toenails. He used the Non Runner's Marathon Trainer plan.

Blimey mate did you mean to donate that much?! Thanks for the sponsorship though! Really appreciated and I'm guessing you have experience with how fantastic macmillan is.

Thanks again.
