I'm guessing you use disposables.
Can you not find an optician that may stock them?
As for your sons, I cannot comment. Are all lenses the same size? I would have thought the effect of the 'wrong' prescription would be no different to borrowing someone elses glasses, but could be wrong.

well the wrong perscription is no big deal ... -1.5 and -1.75 and almost the same. But they are a (slightly) different size.
optician wont give them out as they need up to date eye test records and I dont have any as I skip that by buying off line (just forgot to order them yesterday!)

As a lens wearer myself I say go for it. It may be mildly uncomfortable but for a few hours wont do any harm!

When I wore contact lenses I could only wear them for 2 or 3 days before I needed 2 days off. Just couldn't be bothered in the end and stuck with glasses. These were disposables in the last 10 years or so, so not those old hard ones (which I did wear for a couple of years, my God, the pain!!)

lol.....I could wear glasses but when 10 huge men all try and smash each other to bits they wont stay on very long! and I could try leaving them off but it wont help me throw a ball through a hoop from 25ft away (i'm shortsighted)What did people do in the old days.....they either had their glasses knocked off or missed a lot of shots!
you'll be fine on this, just don't wear them for too long, you might find your distance vision suffers a very small amount, i doubt if you'd even notice to be honest as patient vision accomodation tends to be quite good on sphere/asphere lenses.
a 0.1mm base curve change might mean you can feel them but shouldn't cause too many issues as long as it's just a short term fix.
Just make sure they are new unworn lenses, do not put in any of his used ones, that's asking for trouble.
