I am breastfeeding my 16 week old baby and do not feel normal. I have no energy (but surprisingly not really suffering with tiredness), it is an effort picking the baby up. I get out of breath very easily, which sometimes makes me dizzy.

Having a look on the net, it looks like i could be anaemic (i was prescribed iron tablets during pregnancy). I have booked an appointment with the doc, but it is two weeks away.

So i think I should boost my iron intake a.s.a.p. Would it be better to have more leafy green veg (I am a vegetarian freak) or a suppliment like floradix. Or do you have another suggestion? (I have continued to take a multi-vitamin suppliment since pregnancy)

Getting out of breath unusually easily means ringing up and at the very least asking for a 'phone consultation TODAY - this is not a "wait a fortnight" set of symptoms, this is a "the doctor will berate you for not coming in yesterday" one.
