I think I have a sacro iliac problem, have been laid up in bed for 3 days, I cant actually stand up. GP prescribed diazepam to relax tight muscles, my gluts have now relaxed nicely, but pain is still severe. centre of pain seems to be around SI area (ie to the right of my spine at its lower end)

On call GP has set me up with morphine, to get me going but I still have the problem of sorting it out longer term, I don,t want to be going through this again

Any experiences or tips??

I "did my back in" once years ago long before I started at a gym. I put it down to a chav-style driving position - seat too reclined. It just happened while I was watching TV and I don't remember even moving to cause it, certainly not violently.

Anyway, for about 4 days the pain at the based of my back was unbelievable. I couldn't sit, stand, lay on my back front or side without intense pain. After about a week it started to stiffen up. Another week and I seemed to be fine. Never went to a doc but perhaps I should've done as I was fearing a prolapsed disc or something. Must've *just* been a pulled muscle in the end.

Happened again about a year later, though not as bad. Never been a hint of a problem since I started building myself up at a gym... around 10 years now.

Best bet is to get referred to a physio really.
