delayed hearing

I just thought about this an never figured it out so hope someone knows.
a while ago the horn in my brothers car just started to go off all on its own and would not stop.
So, the only thing I could think off was to take the battery out, Lifted the bonnet and undid the battery an the horn stopped.
BUT afterwards when anyone said anything or any sound happernd, my right ear was a good second and a half delayed compared to my left ear and this went on all night but was ok when I woke up the next day, and since then I have had an ever so slight ringing in my right ear.
I know the right ear ringing all the time ever so slightly is tinitus, and that I accsept as nerve damadge, but why the hell was it delayed for 1 an a half seconds??
