There is some truth that with age you will become more far sighted, so your myopia may improve a little, but don't count on it returning down to low levels. I notice you are also presbyopic hence the add power varifocals. Presbyopia is an unfortunate side affect of age where the crystalline lens of the eye fails to accommodate focus changes as well as it used to, not a lot you can do about that with glasses, but laser surgery of your lens may help reduce that down.
I would definetely get a consultation, as you said it is unlikely they will be able to fix everything, but i suspect they can improve this quite a lot.
On the plus side you're not really Astigmatic, you have quite low Cyl values...Which is nice.

If you have laser then assuming all is well you would get rid of your -8 distance rx but you will retain the need for a reading and separate intermediate (VDU) rx. So different but in many ways you will wear spectacles almost as much if you use a pc at work all day. Yes your glasses will be cheaper but add in the cost of laser and you won't save money. That should be a relatively minor consideration though.
A normal varifocal will struggle quite a lot to give good vision at all 3 distances. Increasingly I use a VDU biased varifocal for those who work in IT. Essilor computer 3s are good. But this is an extra pair not instead of your normal varifocals so not exactly a cost saving exercise I'm afraid.
Your myopia may reduce very slightly as your crystalline lens changes a little, or it may get worse but realistically it won't change much without there being some other cause. Laser doesn't touch your lens only your cornea so no effect there.
What about contact lenses? Plenty of options there.
ETA - you could consider a clear lens extraction - basically a catarct op for those who don't have cataracts. In your case the advantage is that it would be able to remove your distance rx (although it would be fairly likely you would need a small distance rx for driving afterwards) and that you wouldn't ever get cataracts! No idea of cost but probably a little less than laser for your rx. Again as per laser you will need at least 2 prescriptions (possibly 3)post op but the prescritpion and hence the cost will be much lower.

In theory yes as for multifocal laser which is coming slowly.I shall reserve judgement until I've seen few more as the problem is that if the end surgery result is not absolutely spot on (and certainly I can usually improve on a cataract surgery result) then recorrecting with spectacles is going to be nigh on impossible. The couple I've seen where I have had to do this weren't terribly impressive.
As I say its early days and is inevitably the way things will go but not quite there yet.
