Listed for surgery. Can anyone translate?

I've suffered with shoulder injuries for years. I've aggravated it badly playing squash & after an MRI scan, I've had a letter to say I'm up for arthroscopic capsular imbrication & subacromial decompression.

I gather arthroscopic refers to 'keyhole' surgery, but after that I run out of talent. Any shoulder docs onboard can give me a precis of exactly what will be whittled off me?

OP - The surgeon will remove some ligament and also shave away some bone from the acromion.This bone is directly above the injured muscle,and the removal of a bit of it should allow the muscle to heal.It's not a big op.Good luck.
