A couple of potentially stress inducing issues were resolved lately and I'm finding myself feel more relaxed than I have for ages. I obviously didn't realise how wound up I was.

The odd thing is that I keep having an overwhelming feeling of having forgotten something. Not something I should have done, just something I should be carrying. Every time I leave home or office it's as if I've left a briefcase or rucksack behind and I find myself doing an inventory.

Coincidence? Or something to do with previous tension being reflected in the muscles as if I was always carrying something?

You mention the previous episode of stress; could it be linked to any residual anxiety? Worth chatting over with your GP. Good luck!

When i had a terrible commute (long distance on motorbike through winter to a new job) I had the same feeling.

I was always forgetting stuff due to the stress + cold. When i changed jobs and did not have the stress any more I thought i was always forgetting stuff so double checking everything like setting alarm, packing a bag or w/e. I think it was residual anxiety (I had terrible anxiety since being a child.). I read a guide to help and i started to not think about it any more. I was sure I had set my alarm the first time and packing everything in the bag etc. (regardless if i had or not tongue out)

Its a state of mind.
