Teeth Whitening

Has anyone here tried teeth whitening?

Mine are normal looking (colour wise) but would not say no to a much whiter, brighter smile.
I have a dental check up tomorrow so will see what they say.

I have used whitening trays worn for about 3 hours in the evening. This way allows you to buy more gel for future goes, as long as you look after the trays.

I think he got from some supermarket in Paris where a girl did it with only 30 minutes training. And he was delighted with the result. His dentures are so white now!!!

What system do you use Rollin? I've had good results with SDI Polar night 22% (myself included).

Possibly, which is why it is important to have a dentist check your teeth beforehand.

The name of the system escapes me, but I've always found that it is the person making the trays that is the most important bit. I know it's 16% though.

I had one called Zoom done about 8 yrs ago, it was about £500 for treatment at dentist and included trays they mould to fit your teeth which you continue treating at home (with gel they give you). This worked really well, notice big difference and lasts for about a year or so (depending how well you look after your teeth) however it did cause a lot of sensitivity & is common for this. Zoom can regularly be found on offer at dentists for about £300.

I tried one of those £50-100 offers at beauticians. Lasts for about 3 days. Crap. Stay clear.

My hygienist (who is independent & works for many separate dentists) tells me enlighten is the best one. Similar process to zoom but better results & less sensitivity. Is £800 but regularly on offer at dentists for about £400 (includes tray/kit etc). This is the one I will be going for next time around.

To add, your own dentist may not use all the brands (mine doesn't use enlighten) so I'll be going to another dentist

Research the brands then shop around (just make sure you go to an actual dentist!)

I have just come back from the dentists and I read the leaflet in reception. I think they offer the 'enlighten' one that you mention and the list price was £600.

Will do a bit of reserach into enlighten and see what offers are about at local dentists.

Rich.....so many Beauty therapists doing it here with half hours training and calling themselves specialists. One has recently been charged and fined thousands for illegal dentistry. See previous post in whitening and lay people's thoughts. Don't you have this in France?..

Yeah, we had much the same over here and they clamped down, so now they can do it but only using tiny concentrations which means it doesn't work but they can't make any silly mistakes now.

Totally agree about the importance of well made trays Rollin.
