This has started happening to me over a period of a few months, but has started getting more noticable. I get sot of dry flaky skin, which owhen i take it off looks almost grazed underneath. It's confined to these places but it keeps coming back. Ive tried mosturising, sudacrem and god knows what else and nothing stops it. Triggers seem to be having a hot bath or riding the motorbike.

So, what is it and has anyone else had anything similar? If so what do you do to stop it?

I had something similar a couple of years ago- it was a fungal infection, disappeared with some cream from the doc!

Spot on I reckon. Responds to topical antifungals (clotrimazole cream) and steroid creams. You could also use Nizoral shampoo as a face wash to help as it contains ketoconazole IIRC. The last two are available without prescription although pharmacists will tell you not to use 1% hydrocortisone on your face and near eyes.

Spot on chaps, perfect diagnosis.

Ive been prescribed a nizoral cream which ive put on my face 2 or 3 times today and it's still a little red but no longer itching or burning. It's a 2% one though, is that a bit stronger than normal then?

Yeah, that doesnt look like what ive had, thats a LOT more severe. This just looks like a sunburnt patch. Only put the cream on at lunchtime and it's nearly gone.
