Going from manual job to office jockey .... waist management
Discussion
Theres a job come up for me that is office based, at the moment my job is very physical, and with me not being the slightest of chaps it keeps me in half decent trim, the worry is the new job wont be a quarter as active so the waist may grow,
apart from starving and killing it at every opportunity (I exercise out of work 5 days a week) what else could i do to keep it trim,
At the moment it goes something like this
Mon - Rest day/maybe a 3 mile walk
Tues - 6 a side football for an hour
Weds - half hour gym circuit followed by 8 a side football for an hour
Thurs - Swim for an hour
Fri - Rest day
Sat - Swim or cycle followed by climbing
Sun - MTB then maybe a swim.

In my experience, the key is balancing what goes in and what goes out of your body (as it were - ooh err, etc).
If you use something like www.myfitnesspal.com to record everything you eat and all of the activity you do, you can't go far wrong IMO.

Make sure you don't sit next to any women or a bloke who likes to snack. They will wear you down after a while and you'll be turning up with multi-pack bags of crisps and 2ltre bottles of coke so you don't have to leave your desk.
When I moved to doing field sales, after 3 years been office based, I lost a 1/2 stone in 6 months without even trying.

Doesn't have to go that way. When I moved to doing field sales, after 3 years been office based, I lost a 1/2 stone in 6 months without even trying.
I work in a design studio and there's a lot of female colleagues who snack all day on a variety of cakes, sweets and crisps. They know that I'm in the minority that I eat regularly through the day too but of a healthy variety but proceed to leave chocs/cakes/sweets by my desk because I the only one in the studio who can resist from eating rubbish.
They regularly have a moaning session and keep promising to stop eating this and that - they keep asking how I keep a good physique (built similar to Andy Murray with 6% BF), my reply is simply: that's because you all keep coming over and nibble away at things left on my desk
More input less output ain't going to help you
