Over vaccination?

Today we took our 4 month old daughter to get her vaccinations.
They have a bunch of them but one that really stood out is Rotavirus. As far as I can tell this is an entirely unnecessary vaccine as nearly everyone over the age of 6 (when the vaccine was released) will have had this anyway, and in a normal, healthy baby with clean water and enough milk, it is almost entirely harmless and the body builds up immunity anyway over time.
The doctor was quite keen that she should have it, but this is a private hospital (in Thailand) and they sell medicine. At quite a healthy mark up.
Polio and whooping cough are worth vaccinating against, I'm generally of the opinion that if it's not necessary it's best not to do it. Am I missing something? For a healthy, well fed baby with clean water is there any need to get this vaccine? Or is it just over doctoring?
