Slimfast... dafuq?
Discussion
My dad needs to fatten up post-cancer treatment so he drinks Complan (250 calories in every cup and very nutritious). I was just browsing a thread on MFP about Slimfast and googled it. I then posted the following on MFP:

Both chocolate flavour.
Complan: mix the powder in with milk, each serving contains about 250 calories. Drink this if you want to get fatter.
Slimfast: mix the powder in with milk, each serving contains about 250 calories. Drink this if you want to lose weight.

Yeeeeeeah.... if you have a 250kcal drink a couple of times a day, plus one meal, you keep the calories down and will lose weight. If you have a couple of dozen 250kcal drinks through the day then you'll put weight on. A Twix-a-day diet would work as well as the Slimfast diet, but you'd be broken.

Good luck to your dad. If all else fails, I have seen someone who struggled to bulk up (no appetite return after months of trying everything, gradually wasting away) transform remarkably quickly on the 'old wives tale' diet of Guinness and porridge.
Thanks. He's not a fan of Guinness but I think he's ok with porridge (which has lots of calories).Hoofy said:

Some people find the milkshake drinks a bit hard to stomach as they're quite sweet... if your dad's among them then I've had the following tips off my dietician: plain or salt lassi - refreshing without being sickly, and then basically butter, cheese or cheesy sauces on absolutely everything - proper gravy if you do that, roast potatoes not boiled, cream in porridge, full fat cream cheese to go on toast - you get the idea!

what is lassi? and thanks for that, Im trying to bulk out and with my conditions find it so damn hard, so will be trying some of that A lassi is an awesome yoghurt based drink from India - most curry houses will make you one even if its not on their menu.
Sweet ones will either be plain yoghurt and just sweetened, or flavoured with fruit such as mango. Salt are as they sound - natural yoghurt with salt. I'm sure there are recipes galore on tinternet.
Perfect for helping tone down a curry.
