Vomiting bug - have to stay off work?

Our eldest daughter brought home a lovely vomiting bug from school which the whole family had enjoyed. I had managed to avoid it for a while but have succumbed and just returned from calling God on the china telephone.

I am snowed under at work at the minute, should I stay of and do what I can from home? They tell us to keep the kids away from School for 48 hours, is that just because kids hygiene is not as good or should I follow suit?

No-one will thank me if I spread it so will stay off if that is advisable.

Best to stay away, especially if you are open plan. If work is busy the last thing they need is everyone puking into their bins.

I feel for you mate... having 3 kids I know to well the wrath of winter bugs. Call your boss and explain - I normally get told to just work from home.

If you were to goto the office and then make everyone else sick, I suspect they would not take it kindly. Work from home.

Thanks chaps, I am in exile at home.

I feel so st I don't think I could work today anyway. As much as I can't afford a day off I really can't afford for me entire team to be off too.

They never tell you this when you have kids. Prior to having them I had never had the flu or a winter vomitting bug, I have now in the last 4 years had this, and the flu twice - including Swine flu.
