I am diabetic, and thinking of trying contact lenses.

Will i need to pay for them if i decide to use them?

Is it possible to get a trial set to see if i like them?

Why on earth do you think you'd not pay for them?! They won't aid your diabetes, you don't require them purely because of diabetes - I'm confused.

Do you qualify for an NHS Optical voucher? Because if you do, you can use it for glasses or contact lenses. I've had short, free trials of different lenses before, but I was already a contact lens wearer (ie a customer of the optician) and I was trying out different options.

Yes I get an optical voucher, I've always used it for glasses, and was unsure about the ruling on contacts.

I do a hard job, and my glasses are knocked off my face two or three times a day, and they are taking a real beating, so I think contact may be the way forward for me.

Ask an optician, they should give you a couple of free pairs of daily disposables to try.
