Do diabetics pay for contact lenses?

Do you qualify for an NHS Optical voucher? Because if you do, you can use it for glasses or contact lenses. I've had short, free trials of different lenses before, but I was already a contact lens wearer (ie a customer of the optician) and I was trying out different options.
Yes I get an optical voucher, I've always used it for glasses, and was unsure about the ruling on contacts.I do a hard job, and my glasses are knocked off my face two or three times a day, and they are taking a real beating, so I think contact may be the way forward for me.

Pretty much every optician I've used has given me trials.
