I admit, I have fallen on some hard times over the recent year. PArt of my comforts have been eating and drinking real ales.
I noticed that my torso now resembells a pear shape, so i have started to run 10k twice a week again.
However, can anyone suggest how to quickly get rid of Man Boobs (Moobs)?

I used to do some press ups with my feet higher up on the stairs, this seemed to help, but is this the most efficent?

Sorry to hear that. I think a lot of us haven't had our favourite couple of years ever.

Short answer - cut the booze, get the diet nailed and lift weights.

You cant target specific areas for fat loss (ive been told).

Doing 10k twice a week will work just fine as long as you are not eating copious amounts of ste!

Just give it time.

shout weights too

Buy a couple of kettlebells, and start doing circuits.

Failing that body weight stuff, ie pressup variations, pullups, squats

Build your program around a solid combination of compound weight exercises to work the overall body. Doing deadlifts, cleans, various different squats, bench press, pull ups, leg press and shoulder press etc will help build strength and change your body composition for the better.

There's no need to do millions of ab exercises as you can't spot reduce fat anywhere. As others have said, get the diet dialled in as this is the part that normally lets people down if they're struggling with ripping the fat off.

Cardio is also important in helping with burning the calories but rather than spending hours on the treadmill/eliptical/rower, taking up a sport (e.g. join your work mates for a game of footie), helps greatly in building up your aerobic capacity which will increase your stamina/endurance for your lifts.

Remember, this will not happen overnight and you'll have to be patient and gradually you'll see changes with increase in muscle and less layer of fat covering them. Your moobs will gradually disappear but you need to give it time. Don't get hung up on weight, it's the muscle to fat ratio you want to sort out.

Good luck smile

Eat less, you're fat.

People can debate weights V cardio V whatever (and its a valid debate) but nothing burns 300 cals quicker than not eating 300 cals!

I'd agree- do some kind of excercise, any kind that you enjoy- but eat less.

Apparently "Moobs" is no longer the phrase, they are known as "Chesticles" :-)

And, in answer to your question, exercise will get rid of them pretty quick if you are committed
