Aortic lads

Curious to know if anyone on here takes a fat burning shake, tablet or something like that.

Bit of background on me. I'm 26, 6ft and 18 stone, I've always been heavy but don't have a huge gut lol anyways last June I went back to boxing/mma and have lost 4stone 1lb since June by cutting out st foods and training 5 nights a week. I'm not new to boxing vet used to do mma and Korean kickboxing until I got eye surgery so been out a while.

I'm currently wanting to loose 12kg to get down a weight class as my coach has decided he wants me to take a fight in summer.

I don't need to loose the weight I can stay in the class I'm in now but would rather go down one smile and loose more weight be healthier.

Anyways I was meaning to ask my coach about the above tonight but forgot.....figured some PH advice wouldn't go a miss.

So just wondering does anyone take a shake or pill of some sort to assist in weight/fat loss.

Thanks in advance.

I take protein shakes after a hard work out as this will aid recovery and muscle building and any excess in the system will be just passed through urine, rather than stored as fat.

but in aid to loose weight I wouldn't bother, just eat healthy, lots of super fruits etc..... (black berries, raspberries, strawberries etc...) and do lots of cardio work, cycling etc....

don't do the weights as much or you'll put on muscle and in turn weight.

I tried those Granade fat burning pills. I was training pretty hard (running and cycling) and really watching what I ate (was trying to get back age 21 levels of bodyfat, at 29 before going to Ibiza ; ) so if they worked or not, it's difficult to tell. But I did strip the fat.

They made me shake like a c*nt, though. Not a nice experience.

You've lost loads of weight doing what you're doing.

I'd just keep doing it.

You've lost a good 4stone already, I say just keep up what you're doing. If it aint broke don't fix it. Can I ask in what time-frame did you lose that 4stone?

I'm gaining muscle with boxing ect which is a pain but its all good.

My weight is weird I loose weight very quick some weeks the others it slows down.

I used to take a sci-mx diet shake which you took before the workout but finished that months ago, it kinda curbed cravings but wasn't to sold on it tbh.

I eat ok, I could improve it and am currently doing so after the Xmas binge haha.

I drink a lot of water and the occasional IrnBru but not that much.

Hey buddy,

June to A few days before Xmas........ I can't take a fight at my current weight no problem but you know yourself would be good to loose more gut.

Wi the weight I have lost I am able to push myself harder in the sessions which is good.

Once you get to circa 10% BF it becomes very difficult to shift more!

I'll hover around 10%. Sometime's I'll get lower, depending on the volume of training I'm doing (swim, bike, run) but f*ck me - one look at a mars bar at that level and it's BOOMPH! Straight back up.

That's just me, though. Some people are lucky in that they're just naturally lean. I'm not one of them.

I'm more than 10 I think. Tbh I never tried to loose weight I just enjoy boxing. The first stone or so I wasn't caring much about diet, when I started to see results and was told I could get a fight if i keep at it I started to take it serious smile

Why can no-one spell "lose" anymore? Where did this come from? It's affecting the entirety of the internet and seemed to happen from about 10:52pm on 6th July 2012. I think it was a Friday. It's like a virus has been laying dormant for 1,000 years and was suddenly activated on this date.

Weird.

Ha, I sometime spell it wrong on purpose to annoy my more studious mates. Sometimes even saying it wrong out loud brings a simple joy.

You loose, looser.

Yeah, I'm single.

Been advised to try thermobol (hope that's how it's spelt)

Still having a think and doing research into it.

Diet is my number one change.

ECA is claimed as the number 1 fat burner. Its not a specific brand just the ingredients in it. Have a look at that?

True ECA is banned and in the list of banned substances its very far down the list in effectiveness.

However there's lots of ECA derivatives.

Personally taking any weight loss substance when you're a long way over weight is not only likely to be dangerous but utterly pointless.

ECA (the form that is now banned) was shown to increase metabolism by less than 3% and lets not forget it also increases blood pressure and in someone who is over weight bp maybe higher than usual so it may not be the best idea for the heart and if then combined with exercise - BOOM!

However I'd suggest Yohimbine is probably one of the most effective legal substances for its properties but again, there is zero point in using it if you haven't got a good diet and training plan, it looses every time to kebabs, beer and other processed foods.

Invest in a good jumping rope with a bearing and start skipping rope! Not only will it make you lose weight it will also help with you boxing!

Thanks for e info lads.

Well beginning to sort my diet out and feeling good.

Lost 1.9kg since last weight. That was going on the scales per boxing session.

Tonight was a 2hour one. 1 hour cardio straight int 1 hour sparring.

Still looking into shakes and stuff but doing research.

If you're currently 18 stone, and assume it's boxing you're fighting in, wouldn't losing 12kg mean you'd still be a super heavyweight?

Whilst the use of diet shakes, ECA stacks or things like clen 'may' assist in dropping weight, the only real way to do it is by hard graft which equates to strict (or as strict as you need to be) diet regime and ramping up the cardio. Unless you're doing this already, any benefit from any supplement would be negligable.

If you're serious about dropping weight and don't want a diet regime that will completely ruin you, try staying strict Monday until 6pm Saturday and then have a free-for-all until bed on Sunday night so you still get some enjoyment from food and have some balance.

Yohimbine/caffeine is about the only useful combination, but theres no point taking it unless you are already 8-9% body fat or below already
