Anyone work at a stand up desk?

Immediate relief from tight hips? This sitting all day is ruining my hips and leading to injuries when running, playing football etc

No doubt it leads to other issues though, such as sore feet and maybe back issues?

Someone at my last place of work had one of these, she had a problem with her back and allowed to stand at work rather than walking round.

Supposedly standing up while working at pc improves concentration.

I use one when I go to either our Danish or Swedish offices. They're motorised so you can have it at varying levels.

I think it's brilliant, and I'd have one in the UK if I had an office. I do several stints of sitting / standing each day, and I get less back ache in the evenings.

I usually run in the mornings, so my body hasn't succumbed to being sat all day, so can't comment on running form.

In Denmark it's mandatory for all government offices to have these desks, and a lot of the private sector have followed suit.

The whole office is equipped with them and although most aren't used it certainly helped when I had a bad back. Have you taken a look at your current chair / desk setup some adjustments could improve the pain?

I have constant lower back trouble and I was at the point of buying a stand up desk but in the end I got one of these:-

with the Posturefit option.

It's been a great help.

Thread resurrection!

I was just on the phone to someone and I thought her mobile was going off in the background - I said she should answer it if she needed to

But no, it was not an incoming call, but her smart watch bleeping to tell her it was time to stand up.

She has a height adjustable desk that she operates from her phone and she alternates between sitting and standing throughout the day

An app too far?
