I've started getting some sore spots on my forearms, closer to the elbow than the hand which seem to have coincided with starting weight training (any link?)

I'm not just talking about red blotches but proper puss filled spots that are sore to touch and can be squeezed. Got about 10 clustered quite close together on right arm and 3 on my left

Any idea what this could be?

No, I don't do any curls due to issues with forearm pain. Main Bicep work is through weighted chins and pull ups

The reason I asked is that surfaces in gyms can be very unhygienic places.

The gym I have to use when I visit my parents in the sticks seems to always give me a rash or something after training there.

Do you train with uncovered arms?

Yep but I train in the garage at home and I can't think of any point where my forearms come into contact with a surface

Isn't it just. I don't think it has ever seen a cleaning product, ever.

As a gym owner myself it makes me really angry...and the guy who runs it wonders why it's losing trade and going down the pan rolleyes

I've taken to wearing full length trousers and t shirt when there and carrying hand sanitiser in my pocket.
