Is the extra cost of flywheel systems worth it?

Are magnetic versions no better than friction types?

I'm not often asked to source CV stuff often but with a budget of around £100, I think it will have to be a magnetic option anyway but there seems to be some overlap on prices around the friction or magnetic versions.
