I am currently using this in cream form for a rather embarassing medical condition.

Since using it the pain has got better, some days are fine, some aren't, I have been using it for a week and a half and it doesn't feel as if the problem is getting better.

The side effects too are pretty bad, thumping headaches.

Has anyone used this cream or have knowledge of it?

I've used the cream for a probably simular bum hole related problem. First time I used it I thought I was having a brain explosion. Horrible.

Think it only supposed to aid healing. It might take a few weeks.

I only used it once. There's another option. Chat remember what it's called now though. No headaches with that one.

Glyceryl Trinitrate is also used by Angina sufferers in a sublingual spray format, we spray it directly under our tongue to alleviate chest tightness relating to heart conditions.

Didn't know it was available in a cream format, but yes it does give you a thumping headache until you get used to it.

IIRC it took me a couple of weeks for it to have no headaches when I used it.

to the op, the "other " option is diltiazem cream which your GP /specialist will be able to prescribe for you. it is an unlicensed preparation, so may need to be ordered specially for you. headache with gtn cream is v common - mention this to your prescriber and they can supply option 2, headache free.
oh, and remember, no straining or the fissure will never heal,

Yes, it is a bum hole related problem and yes, fk it hurts

Been ongoing for about 5 weeks now, have a history of piles, diagnosed last year, this time pain so much worse and longer lasting. First made an appointement with GP 4 weeks ago who didn't feel the need to examine me and asked me why I was there, I said I need something for the pain, he perscribed Xyloproct, needless to say it didn't go near the pain. 2 weeks ago I went back, saw a different Doctor, who examined me, diagnosed a fissure and perscribled Rectogesic (GTN). I was just wondering if anyone has had the same problem as me and how long it took to heal?

Thanks for the name of the other product, I will mention this to a GP if my problem doesn't clear up.

Plenty fibre. I found fibre gel helped long term. It's rank though.

Diltazem sorted mine out although it does come back from time to time. Not as bad as it was originally. I also found ibuprofen helped.

It a horrible thing to have and can completely ruin your day. Fissurs are a right pain in the ass........get it.....get it......oh.....
