Any dentists in here tonight??
Discussion
I had a tooth removed on Tuesday (upper 5th perhaps) the tooth was fractured and was not a pleasant removal
before she had finished the dentist commented on some sharp bones. I had never had a dentist comment on this before but I do indeed have two bits of bone sticking out (one very sharp) which is sticking and scraping against the side of my mouth.
So my question is, is this normal and shall it settle down? Or will I have to have something done, and what??
Thanks x

It's not normal but it's not uncommon either. I try and remove any sharp bits of bone but sometimes as the gum heals bits do stick out. Usually they heal over ok on their own,if it is irritating arrange to go back and they can nibble off the sharp bits.
When you said nibble I did not think they would actually have a tool they call the nibbler.
Job done and dentist very apologetic as she did not realise how sharp the bone was.Feels so much better.

Hope you don't mind a hijac now your all fixed, so...
My wife and I both have slight mottling on our teeth, which we suspect might be due to lack of fluoride. I used to house share with a dentist's son and he sad his Dad gave him fluoride drops from before he had teeth.
Now I've got a 19 month old and we've noticed he's got a bit of mottling too on his baby teeth.
My dentist is no help, just said I think there's fluoride in the water.
So my question is, will fluoride help him? Do any harm if I try it? If you think it's ok to try where do I get it?
Please Help!

Be careful because the toxic dose of fluoride is quite low and calculated by weight.
Just brushing teeth without water and spitting the excess but not rinsing after will be of benefit.
