Hi,

For about 6 months now I have been constantly getting colds. Say one week on one week off, it's really getting me down now (although I know not as bad as others have!).

Do you think it would be worth going to doctors (I haven't been to the doctors for a good few years as I'm normally pretty healthy)?

I've been waiting for the weather to improve as I'm thinking this might help me get clear of it! The other thing that is concerning me is we have our first baby on its way within the next two months so want to be as heathy as possible before then!

Thanks for any advice!

I think the logical place to start would be to see your doctor.

Alternatively you could try a fairly high dose of vitamin C to boost your immune system.

Two years ago I started taking a Berrocca tablet each day, and in that 2 years I've had just one cold. Prior to that, like most people I used to get a cold 2 or 3 times every winter.

Got to be more than a coincidence.

It's no coincidence.

Berrocca is a multivitamin and contains a lot of vitamin C & Zinc in particular which helps boost the immune system.

A strong immune system should massively reduce the chance of getting a cold.

Being slightly mental, I combat colds and illness with one zinc tablet and one vitamin C tablet per day and lots of hand sanitation gel. I had my first cold in two years last week and it was gone after just two days. As soon as I felt it coming on I busted out the echinacea pills. biggrin

This Berrocca stuff sounds interesting, though. I'll have to look into it.

Use the hand gel and take 1 Vitabiotic Immune tab a day. Nothing over the winter, and had several long haul flights and run constantly in the gym. Both are know to give you epic colds....nothing. Superb.

Could just be that as you age you tend to have fewer colds as your immunity to them increases. http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/coldsandflu/Pages/Coldc...

The hand sanitation will help though.

I don't take tablets, I don't use hand sanitation gel, I fly a lot (19 flights totalling about 75 hours so far this year) and haven't had a cold for a few years. I suspect it is purely down to building up immunity
