Lower Trapezius Pain
Discussion
Anyone here with a desk job suffered from lower trap pain?
I had it about 18 months ago when I first started current job and thought it was from the way I was sat/using the mouse. Played golf one day and something suddenly went bang and for the next few days it hurt really bad just breathing in, never mind moving. Had physio once or twice and it just went away and I thought nothing more of it
I've switched to a stand up desk recently and it seems to have come back and again only on the right side (mouse side). It is like a tightness pain rather than a shooting unbearable pain.
It was hard to work out where the pain was coming from so I laid on a tennis ball and found the really sore point. When I looked in the mirror, the red mark from the tennis ball was definitely lower trap area.
Any idea what could be causing this and how to avoid it or atleast improve things?

I would hazard a guess at rotator cuff. I have had a similar injury recently but it was from doing muscle ups. I have a desk job as well. It has taken a few months to recover; I injured it just before Christmas. It hurts when I do dips, but strangely it doesn't affect military press. You should try and not sleep on that shoulder because I found if I slept on it then it was much worse the next day. I have trained myself to not turn over onto it during the night and it has seemed to speed up recovery.
