Just back from seeing the nurse where I jumped on the scales. Ending January at 139 kg, today 106kg spin All going great at moment, I am absolutely convinced that I will keep it off this time.

I know it's surprised me, but also shown just how greedy I was. Cut out practically all carbs and only average 4-5 units of alcohol a week.

Good work fella.

Likewise, by eating a lot less, drinking less booze and Coke, less choccy bars and more fruit, veg and nuts, mixed with a few hours exercise a week, I've lost about 18lbs this year. I was 14'2 in Jan, and now down to 12'12 and finding it hard to get much lower.

Should be doable... I'm down over 20kgs since December. Slowing up now but still more to go.

BTW, as you probably know; nuts are very calorie dense. A small handful can be 500 calories. yikes
Not bad in themselves, but can catch you unawares. Many dried fruits are similar - also packed with sugars.

I've took a liking to Pistachios. I usually make a 200g bag last about 4 days. But yeah, they do have quote a lot of cals for what they are. But its replaced the Mars/KitKat/Twix I used to have mid morning.

Granted, nuts are very high in calories but 500. 200 in a handful of nuts. Unless you have hands like dinner plates redface)

Only hard part for me is feeling fatigued quite easily due to lack of carbs. Once I hit my target weight of 14st I will start to exercise a lot more is I can allow some carbs. I doubt I will lose 10 kg again this month, but not fussed as I know it will come off.

... or maybe further reduce carbs?
Once your body gets used to burning fat and protein your requirement for carbs may reduce. Unless you partake of chronic cardio, carbs are overrated IMO.
Plenty of articles and research supporting both sides of the discussion - it may be that low carb suits you too.

I'd rather be overweight than give up bread and pasta biggrin
Unfortunatly the girlfiend carb loading for the marathon resulted in me carb loading a bit and not doing the excercise

Ive lost four and half stone since middle of jan.
(27kg)

done it by cutting out bread, beer and savory snacks,

breakfast is usually a porridge,
followed by a cup a soup and some fruit for dinner
then for tea a small normal tea, or a subway salad,
lots of brews and lots of water throughout the day
and half an hour on a rower and half an hour on an exercise bike and evening,

still got 3 stone to go, i know ive done it far too fast, but im slowing up a little more now

my fitness pal is your friend, and runkeeper is good as well

Work has a team exercise program going at the moment.
Good for the motivation, as there's a $200 prize for each winning team member, and you don't want to let the team down.
Basically, it boils down to 'do at least 30 mins of exercise 3 times a week, or if you want to win, an hour a day, every day'. It's capped at 60 minutes a day, thankfully.

Coincidentally, I'd bought a treadmill and an exercise bike the week before, so I'm doing an hour a night on the machines, along with religiously watching the calorie intake.

I've dropped 22 lb (so 10kg, like everyone else here smile ) in the last month.

Another month to go in the competition, I've dropped from 185 lb (probably higher, as I exercised for a week before being brave enough to weigh myself) to 163 lb, and expect to finish up at about 155 lb.
