anyone regret buying a tempur mattress?

My s/son and his G/F have one and he says they're great ,and he's got a bad shoulder and reckons it's ideal for it.
In our house we bought a new bed in the sales was £1300 new,sale price £545.
A load of crap, I wake up every morning with a pain in my lower back.

t bed,but she likes it.My folks had one replaced under warranty after it went lumpy after 8 months or so. The replacement did the same.
My experience of one in a hotel in NYC is that it can't change shape fast enough, so if you move through the night you wake up because the mattress is lumpy.
And it was hot.

We bought a 3" or so memory foam topper for our ageing mattress. I love the comfort, but not the heat. I'm a bit on the powerfully built side and can sweat like a bd on it; seem to spend half my nights exposing my naked arse and feet to the world to try and cool off.
The next mattress will be one of those latex pocket type things with individual springs in it. All of the rigidity but none of the heat. The topper can go in the spare room.

It took my wife a week or so to like it as it appears quite firm at first, but she is now a convert as well.
My old mattress that I paid a lot of money for is on the spare bed and I still use it on occasions when banished to the spare room, but although I still sleep well I would rather be back on the Tempur as I just feel I get a much deeper sleep.
