Pre-workout suppliments
Discussion
S I have heard of pre-workout suppliments that you take, obviously, before a workout.
I dont really have any clue which ones to get, as some are in pill form, some in a bucket of powder, and some come pre-mixed in bottles.
i heard about Jack3D a while ago as it was on the news as the main ingredient was banned as people were abusing it buy taking far to much than recommended and dying from heart failure.
would have liked to get some of that before it was banned, but didnt, so now Im left with the weaker and not as good stuff.
what do you use as a pre-workout mix and what works the best, and if you don't, why not.

Thumbs up for craze from me.
Goldblum never heard that before ?! My "pumps" seem just fine when taking craze.
Yeah you'll still get a good pump. Just not as good - it's measurable. The other thing is you may well have built up a tolerance to caffeine - I assume there's some in Craze? - IIRC caffeine tolerance builds quickly, sometimes after only three doses.Goldblum never heard that before ?! I dont think the caffeine in these suppliments will do me sod all, as i drink some type of energy drink when I wake up most days and a couple of coffee during the day some times.
but it still might do something but not much, im more interested in the rest of the ingredients as i could quite easy drink a red bull before a work out.

Ive tried
Grenade .50 Cal, youd get tingling sensations in your hands/face, seemed to help me in strength training/get over a plateau but id end up being awake till 3am (even though i took it at 5pm previous day), then when id wake up at 630am, i wouldnt feel sleepy
Trying TPW's Raze - first lot i took seemed to work, the second batch im taking doesnt seem to do anything so i may need to up the dose as such. However, only once have i had the tingling effect in my hands and im able to go to sleep at a normal time (11pm)

The tingling effect will be Beta Alanine. I take that with creatine before most w/o's. The tingling disappears after a while though. Beta Alanine increases or helps to increase the production of carnosine in your muscle tissue which will help to give you better muscle endurance = more work done.Grenade .50 Cal, youd get tingling sensations in your hands/face, seemed to help me in strength training/get over a plateau but id end up being awake till 3am (even though i took it at 5pm previous day), then when id wake up at 630am, i wouldnt feel sleepy

It’s meant to be a worthwhile supplement and it’s cheap enough to buy in bulk (along with creatine). Although I think you have carnosine in your brain, I’m not sure that it will help with any mental endurance/improvement but I could be wrong.

Caffeine tabs. Cheap and that's normally the base of all pre workout supps
I take a Caffeine tablet before going to the gym, starts working as I'm starting my work out. Can definitely, 100% feel the difference. Struggled to do 16 miles cycling without it, with it I managed 20 miles. Also took an Electrolyte Tablet before working out, seemed to help. Maybe it's all in your head but seems to work..Jonnny said:

Is it true that carbohydrates can minimize effects of caffeine by upto 90% ? Some "personal trainer" put it on facebook the other day.
Could it be the other way round, in that as mentioned in my post above caffeine suppresses glcogen (carb) usage? This is only in aerobic exercise though, not weights. It also helps weightloss by increasing blood lipid catabolisation. It's unlikely you'd notice a measurable difference in bodyweight, lol.goldblum said:
