Sometimes it doesn't happen most of the time it does.
Any tips?

Lid of shaker bottle, it's all protein stuck at top. If I put it in first it gets stuck at bottom. Put it in halfway and it gets stuck round side. Lose lose situation!

Have you got a mesh filter in there?. I ad water first then powder and never get any left over residue.

I use a mesh maximuscle one and add water first then powder, and shake the hell out of it.

I've got a variant of this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SmartShake-PROTEIN-SHAKE...

Realy useful having separate sections. Don't normally use the pill base but the section for protein powder is brilliant just to add to the container after finishing preworkout drink.

Also means you don't have to carry round numerous bottles.

Only post-workout. With a nice dessert spoon you can mix a "shake" in a couple of seconds.

Maybe shakers are all part of the supplement con? wink

OP, I just use a bog standard shaker with the same type of lid as yours and the standard metal ball. However, getting a perfect mix with no powder stuck to the lid is easy. Half fill the shaker with milk, or water if you choose, add your powder, drop the ball onto the powder. The ball will sit on the power, which will have formed a solid island in the middle of the cup. Pour more milk on in a circular motion, covering as much of the surface of the powder with milk as possible. Don't fill right up to the brim, you need some air space in the because the air bubbles will help to mix the powder in. Screw lid on, shake vigorously with a little side to side motion to really get the mixing ball moving. Most powders should be perfectly mixed after about 10 seconds, but if you've got a particularly insoluble powder, or one that has particularly strong hydrophobic properties and forms powder globules that are hard to break down, shake harder and longer.
