Have you ever forgot to wash out a protein shaker??

If you have ever forgot to wash out a protein shaker and left it for a couple of days before remembering it?

if you have you will know 'THE' smell that i am talking about...


it melts your face from the inside of your nose to eyes and you gag, just slightly.


so have you ever done this, and can you describe the smell?


if you have not, so cannot describe the smell, mix up some protein, drink most then leave a tiny amount in there, and report back in a week.

It's simply the worst smell any man can endure, and fills an entire room within nanoseconds of opening the lid - rather similar to the bodily gases that follow the consumption of said shake.

I've probably thrown away 10-15 shakers over the years due to being too lazy to immediately wash the thing up and finding a mini ecosystem in the bottom of my shaker a few days later

I have been there and fixed it!
Fill it to top with vinegar amd leave for 24hours. Wash out with washing up liquid and BAM smells gone .

whats worse is when you think youve washed it properly, and the next time you use it , your protein tastes like the smell your all describing lol

must admit i still down it
probably not good for me
but it definatley gets a good scrub then lol

I've done this - 2 weeks whilst I went away on holiday.

Steeped it in bleach overnight and admitted defeat in the morning!

Ych a fi ! Have smelt this smell more often than i should of lol through out about 2/3 shakers because of it.

Anyway, back on with the toxic smelling shakers.

Pour some listerine, shake it a bit. Let it sit for 10 mins, shake again and then rinse?
Vinegar solution should work too.

This post has changed since I read it the first time. Something to do with rinsing it out and not screwing on the lid

Yes. I store it with a loosened lid.
But I wash my protein shaker on a daily basis.
