Post Your Transformation! (Fat - Fit / Skinny - Fit)
Discussion
I see we already have a thread for those undergoing transformation, but I feel it would serve a good purpose to have a thread of completed transformations as a source of motivation and inspiration. Good way to find out how someone else achieved goals similar to yours too.
I guess I should open proceedings
April 2007, I was 18 and 21/22 stone.

August 2010

October 2010 (10 grueling GRUELING weeks later) ~ 14.6 stone

Shame that absolutely destroyed my metabolism, but live and learn!

What did you do in those 10 weeks in terms of diet and exercise? Looks like you made some pretty big gains and lost a ton of body fat. What were the long term effects on your health?
So I trained 5x a week with weights, Monday was upper body heavy, Tuesday lower body heavy, Thursday back and shoulders light, Friday legs light, Saturday arms and chest light. Every morning (7x a week) i'd wake up and jump straight on the treadmill, fasted, for an hour medium/quick pace walk up incline then after eating, and weight training I'd do high intensity intervals with a boxing skipping rope for 10 minutes. This was on 2500 calories (based around 200g protein and about 100g fat) the entire time, so each day I'd end up in a deficit of a couple of thousand.Oh I also forgot to mention I'd go running 3x a week, only about 4 miles, but extremely hilly, I'd jog to them and then sprint as far as I could, walk to rest and sprint again when I could.
Supps wise I used ephedrine, caffeine, a couple of weaker stim based supps and a top of the line test booster and aromatose inhibitor.
I did end up with more muscle mass which is pretty peculiar. My metabolism was wrecked though and it took me months to slowly bring it up to full speed.
If I could do it all again, i'd start with my calories higher, no fasted treadmill work and just a few hill sprint sessions a week.

Well done, what are your goals?

Good work, it does sound like a hard slog! I'm nearer the start of my journey, decided to cut from a terribly unfit, out of shape 13 stone 8lbs down as far as I can get and then start building back up with muscle once my body fat is where I want it. I was at around 11 stone a few years ago when I was doing Muay Thai, but that makes you really lean and wiry. Looking to get a more muscular physique, but I want to get my BF% in the right zone first, then look to build muscle and keep losing fat to get into the 6% range. Looking far from shredded at the moment but I'll bookmark this page and come back in a year with a progress update!Mastodon2 said:

I basically took 16 weeks out of my life to do this. It was exausting and I slept 8+ hours every night. I'll tell you now that it is much MUCH more effective to lift weights while losing fat, doing so will help you lose weight (higher lean body mass = higher calorific turnover) and provide you with a good base when you reach the BF% you want. I've never actually lifted weight on a calorie surplus ("bulking") and managed to get to where I am. Currently in the process of reverse dieting and getting my metabolism up to 5000 odd a day just to maintain.
I'll come back in a year by the way and bump this, you better be ready

Oh also, you can't maintain 6% year round, well you can, but you need to have access to plenty of gear and growth hormone, that is seriously SERIOUSLY lean. Just 2% above what top bodybuilders step on stage at. For reference I am 10% in the above photos. 8% is JUST about maintainable year round if you really know your body.

Very effective set of "supplements", looks like you definitely gained a great deal from the hard work, diet and the stuff you were taking so well done.
Aw that didn't take long
Absolutely swear that I am natural and have never used any anabolics/peptide/diuretics etc. What I did is achievable through consistency, intensity and just all round dedication, I do however benefit from decent genetics in regards to putting on mass. You've just got to knuckle down and know you're in for the long haul, before you know it 3 months have passed and you're feeling and looking better than ever. Another 3 pass and you feel amazing, and post a picture on Facebook and for the next 3 weeks all your friends hassle you asking what you eat and 'What do you do for chest?', you'll walk them through your workout and how you eat in a bid to help them do what you have done... then after 2 weeks they ask you what you're taking because what you told them hasn't turned them into you yet.Oops, got a bit carried away.

Thanks.
Let the weekly changes in the mirror be your motivation and guide, I have sets of photos across all 16 weeks that I dieted (I actually look best in the photos I posted which are after 10 weeks, after that my body gave in and held onto fat).

Very impressive OP. Quite a change.
Thanks, hope it provides you a source of inspiration if you needed one!Ok, if I may ask a question of you lot whom seem to know what you're talking about.
I'm 6', 65kg (yes, really!) with 34" chest and 30" waist. I cycle an awful, awful lot. I have a typical 'climber's physique'.
I simply want to be a bit more defined up top; I think I'm close (for a skinny guy - obviously I'm never going to be full on ripped), but will I have to gain wait to ultimately look better? Something which, as a cyclist, isn't ideal?!
Just something I've been pondering but would be interesting

I dunno if some people would call a test booster and estrogen inhibitor as being natural but it worked great for you so I'm not complaining at all.I do get annoyed with how great your chest looks, I don't know whether its because I'm pretty tall or whether I'm just a hard gainer in my chest but it never seems to grow, whereas, my back and lats look great.

Yup, you need to put on muscle mass, and it's just that, mass. Eat more calories, lift weights and you'll achieve what you're after I'm 6', 65kg (yes, really!) with 34" chest and 30" waist. I cycle an awful, awful lot. I have a typical 'climber's physique'.

It will compromise your cycling a little though.Regiment said:

Yeah that's a fair point, though I'm unenhanced according to the WADA list and can compete in natural powerlifting/bodybuilding contests.I do get annoyed with how great your chest looks, I don't know whether its because I'm pretty tall or whether I'm just a hard gainer in my chest but it never seems to grow, whereas, my back and lats look great.
I'm 6'1 and did have great trouble with my chest initially, what made the difference was increased volume and frequency (2x a week) and a real focus on as large a range of movement as possible, doing everything I can to put as much tension on the muscle I am trying to train as possible. This worked so well I made sure I applied this to every movement I do. Oh and pullovers, I really rate these as a chest exercise.
Great work SD, very impressed.
Hopefully in a year's time I can match your end result, but coming from the other side...
In terms of stretch mark removal, my OH has had huge success with BioOil. Two kids and heat scars from massive hot water bottle use for pain relief and not a mark on her after a few months of using that daily. Well, no marks other than the grab marks from my horny hands!
Only bummer is that as she has hypermobility syndrome, she can't train with me - she's having to learn to trigger a whole host of minor core muscles her body has never used. Hopefully she'll be able to start with light weights in a couple of years, as it's the only thing that'll prevent her from being wheelchair bound within a decade... If it had been picked up in her youth she'd have been able to join the circus and training would have prevented all her issues.

All the best to you and your wife. Weight training/a healthy lifestyle has so many benfits, experiencing them as a couple is going to be awesome.Hopefully in a year's time I can match your end result, but coming from the other side...

What were you pre and post lifts like? did you gain any strenght?
Bench went from 125kg to 145kg, squat stayed the same, deadlift I didn't train. Ended up incline pressing the 65s for a few reps, flat pressing them for 8. Got up dipping my weight +60kg.What were you pre and post lifts like? did you gain any strenght?
