Glasses - quickly?

I have worn contacts lenses every day for the last 16 years without issue. However I have caught some horrible lurgy and on top of feeling st my eyes are all sticky and itchy.

I thought I had some glasses somewhere but cant find them.

What is the best place to get them from without spending a fortune? Only want a cheapy set for emergencies. Any do next day delivery? I only have a simple prescription of -2.00 in each eye.

At that prrescription, Tesco, Asda et al do them for about £3 a pair.

Ah, I thought those were only reading glasses. Didn't know they did short sighted ones.

I take it you've been to the gp/optician and got some eyewash or whatever they recommend? Don't muck about with eyes. Although from what you say it doesn't appear to be that serious?

I went to the pharmacy and they gave me antibiotic drops. Think it is just bacterial conjunctivitis.

It seems to have coincided with a virus which is why I feel st. So I guess it could be viral conjunctivitis.

It isn't too bad really, juts cant wear the lenses at the moment.

I found an old pair of my wife's glasses which seem to be my prescription, or near enough.

Here's an offer for you. Come and see me on the way to Bath on Saturday and I'll test you and sort you out a pair of glasses. Should be able to do them there and then.
Its on the way as I'm in Swindon.
You should have a backup pair for when your eyes go manky!

Thank you very much for the kind offer. It isn't me heading to Bath on Saturday. I was commenting in that thread on the particular restaurant.

I managed to get by and my eyes are much better today so am wearing the lenses again.

I will get a set sorted out for the next time this happens!
