Posting this and hoping for feedback on the subject.

I have an acquaintance in her 80s who has undergone the extraction of bone marrow samples a few times. All went well until the last one. Something went wrong and she finished the session with considerable back pain, bruising and swelling.

She has been in constant pain for a year now. A complaint resulted in the doctor being disciplined, retrained and a new system introduced in the hospital to minimise the risk of future problems. This lady did not seek compensation.

She's had a body scan and attended a pain clinic, but no cause for the pain has been found.

Has anybody come across a similar situation?
