I havent but like any MA, youll get good instructors and youll get bad instructors.

Used to do Thai Boxing and think its far better than Krav Maga in terms of practical self defence, purely based on conditioning and all the sparring. MMA is even better still with the takedowns and submissions. As long as you go into a bad situation with some dhead on the street that its no rules, street fight so anything goes, Thai boxing and MMA is better.

I thought Krav Maga was specifically meant for dealing with dirty fighting, e.g. being attacked from behind, with weapons, etc as opposed to MMA/Muay Thai where you are being trained to fight against somebody approaching from the front in a ring, without weapons. Or is that a bit naive?

I don't think that's naive at all.

Like all MAs, it's how not what you train that matters.

Most MMA ground work, from a technical point of view, can be totally useless in a real fight, for instance.

Trouble with that is if the person has no knowledge of whats good/bad, he could end up viewing a bad instructor thinking its good.

Up here in 'The North' we are mostly exponents of 'ecky thump'.

You have to remember to take your flat cap and black pudding when expecting trouble though...

I've been doing Krav Maga for two and a bit years now and I love it. I don't think if you're looking for outright fitness it's the best thing out there but you will certainly learn to defend yourself, counter attack, etc.

There's something comforting about knowing you can handle yourself against multiple attackers...should the situation arise

What's the technique for persuading them to attack one at a time?

Nonsense. 105% of all street fights go to ground.

Well he seems to have mastered it. If the assailants had waited their turn any more patiently they'd have had to take numbered tickets from a dispenser.

It's a demo, it's meant to be slowed down

If in the unlikely scenario you ever ended up in one of these situations however I doubt you'd fare as well as this guy http://youtu.be/IjmBPFPTq-g

Good comeback Hoofy wink

What's the idea, show your attacker(s) that video in the hope they'll fall asleep during the intro?
