Hello guys,

I appear to have a fungal skin infection and have started using creams to hopefully have it clear up. Just wondering how long it takes to go, as it's affecting my work due to me not being able to bend one finger as the skin cracks.

Many thanks!

In my experience, and it is only limited to me so a sample of one, they normally look clear within a week or two, but it's helpful to use the cream for a bit longer.

However, they can keep recurring if you don't remove the conditions that allowed the fungus to germinate in the first place, so that's drying your skin properly etc.

Many thanks. Will keep my fingers crossed (on one hand...hehe)

As for the cause, I had a nasty cut on my hand last week after catching it on a subframe so that could be it.

I would have expected a cut to be infected with bacteria rather than fungus. Again, only due to bitter experience. They'd give you a steroid or anti-biotic cream for it probably.

However, I'm not a GP, so if they've said it's fungal, they're probably right.
