just wondering what the best method of curing blocked ears is.
my left ear produces loads of wax. not sure why but the left is always fine whereas i can mine a good candle's worth from the right every month or so. a lot of the time it is so bad that i end up blocking the passage trying to clean it out. did so at the weekend and despite the past 2 evenings spent laying on my side with eardrops in, the situation is the same. it's quite painful now and it's a bind at work.
when i've spoken to the doctor about having them syringed they just recommend ear drops. is there nothing better?

Drops never work for me as I get the build up. However, on holiday just recently, went to the pharmacy as I felt loads of water build up in my right ear from jumping into the sea and I got given this squirty bottle thing. Not sure if it can clear the wax, but it gets rid of the water that inevitably gets trapped.

Don't use it if you have an ear infection though or you'll end up with a perforated ear drum, which is not nice.
Doctors will tell you to use olive oil, which does work after a fashion but you tend to then have ears full of olive oil instead of wax, which is not ideal either.

My ears are crap - they can't hold normal ear buds for music and even the ones that push into your ear work themselves loose and they are shaped (canal anyway) in a way that traps water even when I don't have a wax build up.
