shoulder bursitis
Discussion
can anyone offer any advice on avoiding said injury?
I have had sporadic, at times very persistent pain in around shoulder area for the last 6 weeks.
Eventually I got off my arse and went to the doctor, who prescribed naproxene.
I then went to a physio who advised an x-ray and give me some basic exercises to increase muscle strength/range of movement. She said if she had to make a diagnosis, she would go with bursitis, adding that it tended not to respond very well to physio, rather steroid injection.
X-ray came back clear yesterday, I have finished the medication and had a week relatively free from pain.
I'd like to get back to running and swimming, just need a little advice on any exercise routines that have worked for others.
thanks

Minimum of 6 weeks total rest followed by gentle progressive training. By not allowing the injury to fully recover risks converting it in to a chronic injury; as my physio has told me time and time again when I get injured. I never listen, much to my cost! Good luck!
thanks for that :-)Gassing Station | Health Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
