I'm out of bed for work at 4am, drive approximately 1 hour to work, sit down all day at work and drive home. Generally home for about 5pm. Worn out from getting up early as you can imagine.

I'm trying to loose some weight, what can anyone recommend? Obviously long days at work so breakfast normally around 8am, lunch at 11am and then difficult to skip eating from the rest of the day.

Any advice appreciated?

get a standy up desk, or sit on one of those big ball things that women like to exercise on?

the second would work you core trying to just sit on it all day aswell.

oooor, if you think you want strong legs and have ok stamina, move your chair out of the way a couple of times a day, get into a 'good' horse stance, and carry on working, you will get to a point where you will be able to do it without struggling after a while then without thinking about it.

You don't need to get any exercise at all to lose weight. Just eat less.

A good basic diet and no cheeky snacking is easy. You probably need far fewer calories than you think you do, so check out myfitnesspal.com and measure your intake for a week. A bit of exercise will burn some calories but you will feel hungrier - your body will want to recover the burned calories. You still need to eat less than you burn.

As to which foods make you fat - you already know the answer to that.

Go for a jog at lunchtime? Parkrun on a Saturday morning? Eat less too, use a cal counter as suggested above. That mad day won't be helping though, can't it be changed at all?

Thank you for the replies but going for a jog a lunchtime is difficult and moving chair around. Perhaps I should have said that I fly aeroplanes for a living!

Try and get your calorie intake down to 1500 to 1700 a day. Why so early for lunch by the way? If you can move that forward on hour or two it may stop you snacking in afternoon

Calories consumed < calories used = weight loss.

The only way.

If you have enough time on turnaround, one of the cabin crew could help you out with some exercise...

And ditch the cheese board, if you are a Nigel !

Grazing has become the normal these days.

Try and eat 2-3 meals only, no snacking.
The really important part is to realise that being hungry is quite natural and that after a while you will get use to this feeling and look forward to a meal more.

6am - 100kcal snack (nuts, breakfast bar, or fruit)
8am - Porridge (200kcals)
10am - 100kcal snack (fruit, oaty bar, or crisps)
12pm - Sandwich (500kcals)
2pm - 100kcal snack (fruit, oaty bar, or crisps)
4pm/5pm/6pm - Dinner (500kcals)
8pm - bed

Eating every 2-3 hours and only 1500 calories. Stick to something like that and you should lose weight.

8am - Fried breakfast (1000 kcals)
11am - Pasta bake, juice, chocolate bar, crisps and sweet coffee (1000kcals)
1pm till Bedtime - Various snacks (1000kcals)

Eat like that and you will gain weight.

hehe

No excuses. Go for a jog on the wing. Couple of pull ups and front levers?

As someone said above, just eat less food.

OP what is your current height and weight?

Most people who want to lose some weight actually want to be in better shape. The common mistake is to eat less and less until they are just a smaller version of themselves.

If you want to lose weight and get in better shape then you really need to do some weekly exercise. Move it or lose it smile

Park away from work and walk the rest of the way - park further and further away over time to increase walking distance.

Don't bother putting the autopilot on and fly manually all the time, especially on really dark and dirty nights, keep the stress levels high and the weight should 'fly' off.

Keeps the heart rate up and gives you a bit of arm exercise (unless it's an airbus)

It's quite simple.

Have a regular breakfast, a normal sized lunch and a decent dinner. DO NOT SNACK!

Then when you get home, go for a run before dinner. The longer you are out running the bigger the dinner you can treat yourself to.

Park the plane a bit further from the gate and get your exercise at work
