kin hell! I didn't see that, have you seen the way she holds the handpiece? Like a frickin' sledge hammer!Actually after receiving many many years of excellent service at very reasonable costs from a number of dentists over the years I am perfectly satisfied with my dental servicing. The same may not be true of course of the dentists who treated me! I cannot imagine anyone in their right mind buying or even worse actually using this monstrosity. But some people have very odd tastes indeed as this advert suggest. Whatever floats your boat is my motto.
I'm praying this is some sort of elaborate hoax, if so it's been in the making for over a year!

it's sad that people feel they have to resort to DIY healthcare. what next? DIY appendicectomy kits? DIY heart bypass kits - comes with free general aneathetic machine!!
Healthcare is expensive if you want it done properly, but not everyone can afford a mercedes so they don't buy one. the trouble is that when it's their own body, they have to find the money for mercedes healthcare or they can go to eastern europe or the far east and get cheaper healthcare for questionable quality (I've seen the results and it's not pretty, for balance, i've also seen rubbish UK dentistry).
when all is said and done people can make do without expensive cars and expensive houses and expensive tat, but they cannot make do without expensive healthcare (unless they do not care about the quality of healthcare they receive). they just need to be aware of this and budget for it.
And it's only going to get worse as scientists find more advances in healthcare. Becasue these advances cost money. modern healthcare is massively expensive even before you account for NHS corporate wastage. The government simply cannot afford to pay for healthcare for everyone through taxation alone. that's why we have prescription and dental charges. they are there to supplement the NHS and bear no relation to what is paid to the pharmacy or dentist.
And the problem is that the government is saying everything is ok, but the hospitals are understaffed, don't have enough budget and cannot treat patients in the best way. so patients loose out. then there is the abuse of healthcare rescources by those that do not need it - drunks on a weekend using A&E as a sobering up bed, morons calling 999 for a cold or toothache so that ambulances cannot get to real emergencies.
It's a complete mess and needs to be sorted out by someone who can be made exempt from political backlash and can implement policies that will protect those who really need the services and punish those that abuse it. becasue the finite pot of money that is the NHS health budget will not stretch very far any more.

How many people actively take a role in their own health care and simple prevention?? I've spent the last 8 hours wading through plaque and largely being ignored. Caries and perio is on the most totally preventable and yet we see this rubbish and our profession gets slated!Also apologies for the rant, it's been a long day.
