Bupa gave my wife an authorization code...
Discussion
Usually there is an excess payable for each body part eg. If you have a foot operation, you pay excess on that, then if you have a hand operation you have an excess to pay for that. Then if it continues to another year you pay the excess again.
Although I'd be surprised if that's the excess as our health care excess is £50 a time.

Paid the £100 excess earlier in the year for the same stomach problem.Although I'd be surprised if that's the excess as our health care excess is £50 a time.
I just don't understand what the authorization code is for if it doesn't authorize the treatment/procedure??
I've had multiple appointments (scans, procedures etc...) using the same authorisation code.
The only stipulation is that you contact Bupa before every appointment, they then authorise.
I actually had 2 separate auth codes running at the same time - never had any issue with Bupa , the private hospital managed to reference the wrong auth code one time which meant a rejected payment, but a call to Bupa sorted that out.
Give them a call, If you had contacted them before the procedure and they gave you the same auth code again, you will be fine ( the DR / hospital / clinic etc who performed the procedure must be on 'their preferred list' for a payment to be made ).

k up but either way contact them and ask them for their explanation rather than getting seriously worked up over what could be a cock up.
