vaporizers

I have a friend who is suffering with pain. He's tried a few different forms of prescription pain killers but things are progressively worsening. I thought of getting him a vaporizer for a different kind of pain relief.
Looking online they seem to vary from 10-500 quid. I'd like some pointers on what specific models would work well for this, or are they all relatively similar in what they can do. I know from various other threads there's a few members who use these.

i had one as a student. it was essentially a soldering iron with a metal platform/cup in the end inside a glass jar. the 'lid' end being a large plastic affair to provide an airtight base and exit for the tube whilst covering the electrics.

i'd say £20-30 would suffice. not sure how someone can stretch the concept to £500 worth

It is worth paying for one that has temperature control, although to be honest, if it is for pain relief, you would be better off making a tub of cannabis butter and keeping it in the fridge.

Piece of toast, bit of butter, relatively instant relief and no need to have smoking paraphernalia about the place. Take a leaf out of the legalised dispensaries books

Magic flight launch box. Spare set of batteries and a 2 pin to 3 pin adapter for charging them (like you'd use to charge a shaver). Oh and get the plastic mouthpiece as the supplied glass is very fragile.

I see a lot of people mentioning marijuana for analgesia but it's not a brilliant analgesic in the grand scheme of things, 10mg of THC is equivalent to 60mg of codeine (basically 2 pills of cocodamol from the GP) I guess it is an opioid agonist but that requires you to be taking them obviously, so perhaps a better idea would be go to the GP and insist on better painkillers and or ask for a referral to a pain clinic.
