So, on this for cluster headache prevention. Only been on it for two days and I feel wired, bit like I've taken some speed. Will this feeling stop?

Taken Gabapentin and Amytryptaline amongst others some time ago for a fair while. They do both have severe side effects but are very effective in addressing the conditions they are intended to treat. To be prescribed this drug you must have serious health issues. I would try to get used to the effects it may well address your health issues. Certainly well worth a try.

You get used to it, been taking it for 3 or more years to help with MS pain. Watch the appetite though.

Weight gain can be a problem. But it clearly does assist in some cases. If you can live with the side effects.

Thanks guys. Weirdly yesterday I couldn't eat at all till the evening. Will give today another go and maybe try and deal with it. The oddest was when I tried to relax in the evening. Sat down to enjoy a meal and a movie but just couldn't relax.

I would expect Gabapentin to be effective when prescribed. It does cause side effects but if you can ride that tiger I do think you will see the benefits. Best of luck.

Been on it for just over 4 months now, In the first few weeks all the skin fell off my face and ears, very weird. Lost all appetite but that returns after a while. Now the dosage has been reduced, from 900mg to 600mg a day, it seems to be working just fine. This is for spinal and neck pains.

Erm, that side effect can fk off!! I think I had maybe some anxiety issue yesterday but seems not to have today.

If my skin falls off I'm gonna be super pissed as there are many social events that will require either my boobs or legs out and skin flaking would not suit!

The side effects vary with the constitution of the patient. Matter of seeing how things progress IMO.

Not had the skin falling off side effect.
Did feel slightly spaced in the beginning but that soon went.
knocking back 2700mg of the stuff to keep things under control. Guess I should buy shares in Bayer ;-)

Quite right, it varies from patient to patient. If you read all the blurb in the box of any medicine, they give many 'worst case' side effects just to cover their asses. I may have only peeled due to being so run down at the time.

I shouldn't complain as really if the drug stops or prevents my cluster headaches then frankly it doesn't matter what the side effects are as they are the worst things ever. Fact.
