Anyone changed their workout routine to work from Time Under Tension as opposed to reps/sets?

Was chatting to a trainer this week about TUT. How the old rap ranges came from it, based on a standard tempo. 48 seconds minimum needed for progression.

Tried to alter to it a few times and for feeling done at the end of a workout and doms it's excellent, however i struggled to be motivated by it so each time I've slipped back into lower reps max weight within about 4 weeks.

Well worth trying to mix things up and by all accounts it's the routine for maximum size gains.
