Sudden sharp heel pain after resting.

As per the title, after I have been laying or sitting down and then try to walk I am getting a sharp pain in my heel roughly where the Achilles tendon attaches. It seems to go away after hobbling about a bit. Any ideas what it could be please anyone?

I had something similar last year, and talking to a work colleague he had also had it and called it bobby's heel. Put that in google and see if it describes your symptoms.
If so, it will go away by itself after a couple of months, but is quite painful.

I had something similar.

Could be policeman's heel - basically a bruising of your heel where you're walking a lot but don't have enough cushioning in your shoe.
Go to Doctor, who will advise.

I had a bursa where the Achilles tendon met the bone in my heel. Orthotics and physio sorted me out.

Policeman's heel seems to imply a pain on the bottom of the heel, whereas mine is the back of the heel apparently where the Achilles tendon attaches.

Walking about this afternoon, sometimes it has been OK for a while and then suddenly it's like I've been stabbed.
