Not had that but we've had the sickness bug. My little boy (16 months old) had 6 days of it and managed to empty his guts every time all over me.

That's exactly the symptoms I've had.

Struck me on Christmas Eve and have been in bed since.

Using menthol crystals to inhale, codeine liquid for cough and plenty of liquids.

Can't wait til I can leave the house again

Been there, done that. Entering week two of it. Down to just being snotty and coughy.

It's heaven having a sense of taste back, but not being able to taste the chewy crap that's being coughed up.

I was beginning to think I'd never feel well again.

Do all those things actually help or would the end result/time frame be the same if you just let your body ride it out?

Same here, just coming to the end of my two weeks. Am usually pretty robust to manflu type bugs but in the middle just before Christmas I was pretty wiped out for a couple of days.

Just got something sounding similar. Surfing for an hour is rather cold water yesterday probably wasn't a great idea. Fun though!

You definitely haven't had what I've had then as Boxing Day until yesterday I've been on the couch feeling lethargic and the upset stomach required me to be very careful when releasing wind!

There is a nasty respiratory virus going around at the moment. OH was in bed for three days with a high temperature and says he felt much worse than a normal cold.

Of all fancy cough medicines, I find the most effective is actually the cheapest - Allen's Pine & Honey Balsam.

Bloody cough hangs around for ages after all other symptoms have gone.

Both me and the other half still hacking away a good couple of weeks after the worst has passed.

Had something like this just before Christmas and to make things worse my kids caught tummy bug from school so you can imagine how I feel :P

I guess on one hand I'm lucky to have 2 weeks off though...

Ive got this, came on (mildly) around boxing day, just started to get the sore chest and stomach. I really feel like st. I've come into work too and I don't think I should have, I felt ok this morning after a hot drink and a shower, after being sat in a warm office for 3 hours I feel like crap again.

I don't usually get ill. Any suggestion on remedies?

Had a bad sickness bug a couple of weeks before Christmas (whilst I was on holiday from work too), cleared up after a few days, but I felt really rubbish for the few days. Just stayed in bed trying to sleep it all off. Suspecting I caught it from the gf, as I came down with it just after she'd gone back to hers. Wasn't nice to have.
